During the LONG NIGHT, there are a number of events where waiting times may occur. This is due to limited space and/or restricted group sizes – combined with particularly high visitor interest.
We aim to indicate such events clearly in the programme. Please look out for the “Special note” for the individual events (red box in the programme overview).
Based on past experience, longer waiting times can be expected at the following museums or events:
_ Archaeological Windows: Ehgraben
_ Beyer Clock and Watch Museum; due to limited space
_ focusTerra – ETH Zurich: earthquake simulator
_ Swiss National Museum: most guided tours
_ Urania Observatory: tour of the dome
_ Zurich Old Town Churches: tower tours at St. Peter’s Church and Grossmünster (the two towers)
Those who head for museums slightly off the beaten track can usually avoid queues and crowds altogether:
_ Botanical Garden UZH
_ FCZ-Museum
_ Friedhof Forum Museum about life and death
_ Kunsthalle Zürich, Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst and Museum Haus Konstruktiv at Löwenbräukunst
_ Museum für Gestaltung, Toni-Areal
_ NONAM
_ Science Pavilion UZH
_ Shedhalle
_ Stadtgärtnerei - Center for Plants and Education
_ Swiss Finance Museum
_ Swiss Heritage Center
_ Zurich Tram Museum
Please note: This information is based on previous years and subject to change on the night. Situations can always change.
Please also note the individual museum closing times. You can filter for venues “Closing before 2am”.
Special case
Zurich Zoo closes at midnight, but no entry is permitted after 10pm.
